Florence “Flow” Adepoju is a cosmetic scientist, STEM advocate, and trailblazing entrepreneur best known as the founder and CEO of MDMflow Cosmetics, a beauty brand renowned for its innovation and commitment to inclusivity. A graduate of the London College of Fashion with a BSc (Hons) in Cosmetic Science, Flow launched MDMflow from a lab she built in her parents’ garden shed, driven by a desire to push boundaries in product development and representation. Identifying a clear gap in the market, Flow created a line of products that celebrate and cater to women of colour, blending her scientific expertise with a deep understanding of consumer needs. MDMflow has since become a cult-favourite brand, and has been featured in The New York Times, BBC, Channel 4, Vogue, and Grazia.
Flow is a dedicated STEM role model, using her platform to champion diversity across both science and beauty. She was recently named a UN Mentor for International Day of the Girl Child, supporting young women globally to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and maths. In 2023, she was awarded an Honorary Fellowship from the London College of Fashion in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the beauty industry and commitment to inspiring the next generation.
From formulating lipsticks in a shed to influencing international conversations around inclusion and innovation, Flow continues to break barriers. Her mission is clear: to make both beauty and STEM more inclusive, accessible, and inspiring for the next generation.
